#1334 A 1950s Hazel Atlas glass cocktail recipe shaker with metal top.

8” Lid and stopper present No chips or cracks

The Hazel-Atlas Glass Company made glassware products in towns across the United States, including Washington, Pennsylvania, and Clarksburg, West Virginia. These cocktail shakers were produced during the mid-twentieth century when home entertaining became a widespread American social phenomenon. They were made by pressing molten glass into moulds and then applying coloured enamel printed recipes directly onto the exterior surface.

Hosts used these vessels at home parties to measure and mix various alcoholic drinks for guests in living rooms and dens. The inclusion of printed recipes allowed amateurs to easily replicate popular mixed drinks without consulting a separate recipe book. Over time, home bar trends shifted toward different barware styles, bringing the production of printed recipe shakers to an end.
