#1214 Vintage Murano glass organic bowl with aventurine and green interior.

No chips or cracks. 3.5 c 1.5” Murano glass, originating from the island of Murano in Venice, Italy, has a rich history dating back to the 13th century. It is renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship, vibrant colors, and innovative techniques, making it highly sought after by collectors worldwide. The island was a major glassmaking center, and its artisans developed unique methods for creating intricate and beautiful glass objects. This particular piece exhibits characteristics common in mid-20th century Murano glass, such as the use of aventurine (gold or silver flecks suspended in glass) and the organic, free-form shape. Such bowls were often created as decorative items, small dishes, or ashtrays, showcasing the artisan's skill in manipulating molten glass. The combination of the shimmering aventurine and the deep green interior is a classic Murano aesthetic.
