Fenton Art Glass Company, founded in 1905 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, and later relocating to Williamstown, West Virginia, became one of America's premier art glass manufacturers. Renowned for its innovative techniques and vibrant colors, Fenton produced a vast array of decorative glassware, including their highly sought-after cranberry glass. Fenton's cranberry glass, often made with a formula that includes real gold, is celebrated for its rich, translucent hue. The company frequently employed techniques such as applied glass for handles and bases, as well as decorative elements like ruffles and twists, to create distinctive vases and other art objects. Many Fenton pieces from the mid-20th century, particularly those with unique colors and applied decorations, are highly collectible.
