#0319 Akro Agate green and white swirled slag glass vase (flaw)
6x3 no chips, possible hairline crack but believed to be manufacturers error. Akro Agate Company was an American glass manufacturer known for its colorful slag glass, marbles, and children's toy dishes. Founded in 1910 in Akron, Ohio, the company became particularly famous for its "slag glass" pieces, which featured marbled patterns of opaque colors, often green, white, blue, and purple. These pieces were popular decorative items during the mid-20th century. Slag glass, also known as marble glass, is created by adding metallic oxides to molten glass, which then cools and swirls to create unique patterns. Akro Agate's slag glass items, like this vase, are highly sought after by collectors for their distinctive marbled appearance and the variety of color combinations. The company ceased operations in 1955, making its vintage pieces collectible.
