#01 Vintage 1970s Copper Jalopy Car Music Box King of the Road Hong Kong Working
Fantastic vintage copper jalopy automobile music box, circa 1970s, with loads of character and wonderful aged patina. Designed as a whimsical old-fashioned automobile, it features large spoked wheels, an open car body, tall roof frame and dimensional handcrafted-style metalwork.
The copper has developed beautiful natural variations in color and patina throughout, giving the piece an especially rustic, sculptural appearance.
The original foil label reads “Plays: King of the Road – Made in Hong Kong.” The wind-up mechanical music box has been tested and is working, playing King of the Road.
Measures approximately 12 inches tall x 11 inches wide. Vintage surface wear, oxidation and patina are present consistent with age and are part of the wonderful character of this unusual piece.
