Stunning and rare Zellique Art Glass PURPLE iridescent apple shaped paperweight. Joseph Morel, Designer. Made by Zellique Art Glass Studio, Benicia, California. Circa 1998. Zellique Art Glass Studio was owned and operated by Joseph Morel from 1980 to 2005. He is known for his simple and eleant quality work, and is represented in galleries and museums all over the world. This wonderful paperweight is in the shape of an apple with a stem and leaf on top. It is a heavy piece. The color is brilliant with iridescent and opalescent colors of purple, pink, green, blue, and gold. It has an unique starburst design throughout the piece. The overall measurement is 3" tall and 3" wide at top and tapers down to 1-1/2" wide at bottom. It is signed "Zellique" and dated.
