Vintage Westmoreland Hen On Nest Split Tail “Cold Paint” Black Milk Glass Version With White Head 1940-1960 Circa 4-1/2” T x 5-1/2” L x 4-1/4” W
Westmoreland Hen on nest split tail black enamel body with white head. Westmoreland “cold painted” milk glass from 1940-1960s giving it a tuxedo look. Mold marking of “4”. Westmoreland (earlier production) marked their glass with mold numbers. Condition: This piece is in excellent condition for its age, no paint loss and is still shiny black. There is a pull on the inside edge of the bottom piece, from the manufacturing process. it’s a hallmark of authentic, early-to-mid-century pressed glass, see last two pictures, different views.
