Vintage Villeroy And Boch Design Naif Trinket Box
Vintage Design Naif illustrated candy or trinket box with Horse and Cart design by Gerald Laplau for Villeroy & Boch. Discontinued 1983 pattern includes six village life illustrations on a full array of table and giftware. This is the mid-sized 4" round lidded box with a colorful bucolic scene of a man driving a horse cart with a turkey in the back. Crafted of vitro-porcelain in Luxembourg. It is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Gerald Laplau was a French artist, important for his role in establishing the relevance of the "naive" art form. He was born in 1938 and died in 2009. Measures 4” in diameter x 2 1/4” tall
