Vintage U.S. Navy Warrant Officer’s Mess serving bowl. This style of heavy, durable ceramic is widely known as military restaurant ware or mess hall china, specifically designed to withstand daily use aboard naval warships and bases. The stylized "USN" monogram printed in blue on the side identifies it as belonging to the Warrant Officer's Mess. Other mess divisions (like the Wardroom or Captain's Mess) traditionally used a fouled anchor design or specific flag burgees instead. It features a clean white vitrified body accented by a singular cobalt blue stripe running along the interior rim. These robust ceramic items were heavily contracted from the late 19th century through the mid-20th century, spanning World War I, World War II, and the Korean War eras. This one was produced by iconic American pottery manufacturer Tepco. There is mild crazing in a couple spots otherwise excellent condition. 9 ½” round 3 ½” tall
