Vintage Porcelain Colonial Man and Lady figurines
These delightful Vintage Porcelain Colonial Man and Lady figurines are a charming addition to any collection or home decor. The man, standing 7 1/2 inches tall, is dressed in a detailed red coat with intricate lace trimming, complemented by a lace ruffled shirt and purple breeches and hat. He graciously plays a flute, bringing a touch of colonial-era music to the scene. His counterpart, the lady, is elegantly attired in a white gown with matching lace trim, accessorized with a red scarf. She holds a stringed instrument, ready to serenade alongside the gentleman. Originating from Japan, these porcelain pieces are marked with a "Made in Japan" sticker and bear the patent numbers 1905 - PATP 13338 & PATP 21287, indicating their early 20th century origin. The figurines exhibit a high level of craftsmanship, with the man and woman both showcasing poses that convey a sense of poise and refinement. Initially adorned with flocking, most of this delicate detail has been lost over time, revealing the underlying porcelain. The remaining lace on their outfits has some discoloration, which adds to their vintage appeal and tells the story of their journey through the years. These figurines are in good condition for their age, with some wear and tear that is consistent with vintage items. They serve as a lovely reminder of a bygone era and would be a delightful conversation piece or a thoughtful gift for a collector or anyone with an appreciation for historical-themed art. The photos provided offer a glimpse into the intricate design and gentle aging of these charming porcelain musicians.
