Indiana Glass Tiara Exclusives Honey Dish Bee Box Official color: Amethyst Age: Vintage circa early-1980s Approx. Size: 6” H (with lid) x 5-1/2” W x 5-1/2” D Approx. Weighs: 2-1/2 lbs. Design: Base- Square box embossed with buzzing Honey Bees, Flowers, Bee Hives, and Geometric borders. 4 hexagonal peg feet on bottom. Lid- Bee embossed with geometric borders. Smooth acorn-shape finial. History: Covered glass honey dishes originated in the late 1800s and were designed to hold a full square honeycomb from bee keepers. Indiana Glass Tiara Exclusives began this particular style of peg feet bee boxes in mid-1970s. Beginning in 1982, they began offering this amazing amethyst color bee box. Sadly, the Indiana Glass Co. closed in the early 2000s. Condition: No chips, cracks, flea bites. Any seam lines & bubbles like the one in finial are normal part of the mold manufacturing process.
