From Google: This is a vintage matchbook from "Hippo Hamburgers" (also known as Hippo Burgers), a whimsical San Francisco restaurant that operated from 1950 to 1987. Hippo Hamburgers was famous for its eclectic menu, which included 50 types of burgers and a unique "Hamburger Sundae" featuring real ice cream on top of a burger patty. The character featured on the cover was designed by Wolo (Baron Wolff Erhardt Anton Georg Trutzschler von Falkenstein), a children's artist and puppeteer who decorated the restaurant.
