Vintage Gmunden Pottery (Austria) Handmade Vase, Hand-Painted, 4.75", Craquelé

This vintage Gmunden Keramik handmade vase from the Salzkammergut Region of Austria is a beautiful piece featuring an Austrian version of a Fleur-de-lis pattern. The vase's primary color is blue, accented with brown, russet, and cream. Hand-painted and stamped Gmunden, this medium-sized vase boasts a folk art style. The featured figures include stylized volutes (S scrolls), palmette (the brown shell flowers inside the S scrolls), foliate border bands in blue, and a Craquelé background, an intentional fine network of crackle lines under the smooth glaze. Made of red clay, this vase is a true reflection of traditional Austrian pottery techniques.

The vase is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks or signs of wear.
