Vintage Conrad’s Ceramics Clay & Ceramic Vase, Impressed Flowers, Signed, St. Croix

This vintage vase (1970s) from St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands artist Conrad Knowles is a unique piece of art pottery. It features impressed floral patterns from local St. Croix flowers and uses local clay. The detail of the flower prints is exquisite. The vase has a height of 5.5 inches and a width of 3.75 inches, weighing 1 pound and 1.5 ounces. It has a matte light brown exterior with the flower imprints highlighted in black, and a glazed white majolica inside, preparing the vase to hold water. The vase has a natural feel and presentation. It is perfect for decorative purposes as well as being a functioning vase. The vase is in very good used condition. There is one chip on the underside of the rim, but otherwise has no cracks or additional chips. There are no signs of wear. There is an original sticker attached to the vase, a maker's mark impressed on the lower rim and Mr. Knowles' design shop impressed on the underside. There is an old flyer from Conrad's Ceramics included with the vase. It has a map on one side and a biography of Mr. Knowles on the other side.
