Vintage 1939 Japan Porcelain Dish C.P.R.S.S. Empress of Asia Provenance (JQ) Measurements (approx.) Length: 9" Width: 5" Height: 1-1/8" Description Vintage Japanese porcelain dish dated June 1939 with handwritten provenance on the underside referencing the RMS “Empress of Asia.” Inscription indicates it was brought home from Japan by a Master at Arms who served aboard the ship from 1936–1939. *** the red mark on the back is marked out, so the name isn't shown. Attempting to maintain the privacy of the original owner.*** Features a hand-painted scenic landscape design including mountain, pagoda, birds, and textured decorative accents along the rim. Red kiln mark present on underside. Pre-WWII souvenir piece with maritime historical connection. Condition Pre-owned antique condition. No chips or cracks. Light age-related surface wear consistent with vintage porcelain. Original handwritten inscription on underside as shown. Please review all photos carefully for condition details.
