The name Beetle's Rucksack is a shout out to the old cartoon Beetle Bailey. A favorite of mine and unfortunately gives you a great idea of my age. I believe in leaving the item in the condition I have found them since 'The stories are in the schmutz' and patina. I hope I have an item that brings back fond memories for you or a loved one. Please remember that glass should be left in the box to acclimate to your climate before the box is opened. Extreme temp changes can cause items to break. Ruby Flashed Compote by Indiana Glass
This item would look beautiful full of foil wrapped candies, or perhaps turned on its side with red silk ornaments spilling out. My grandmother always used hers as a candy dish for Christmas Ribbon Candy. Or on the Bar full of any chocolate that goes good with Whiskey. Very versatile decoration piece. This is a paler red flashing than we normally see. It is in good used condition. I have added a photo of a scratch in the flashing.
