PERUVIAN CHULUCANAS FOLK ART CERAMIC FIGURINE OF WOMAN Signed . EX COND
Origin: It is produced in the town of Chulucanas and the nearby village of Quatro Esquinas in northern Peru. Technique: The distinctive colors and designs are created using an ancient pre-Incan technique involving a slip coat, burnishing with a stone, and a unique smoke-firing process using mango leaves. Artisans: Many pieces are signed by the individual artists who create them, such as Emigdio Castillo, Jesus Rivas, and Valeriano Paz. Excellent condition. Signed by artist.
