Moomin Mug Little My- Arabia Finland

This is a Moomin mug, Little My, by Arabia Finland It was produced during 2008-2014 It is no longer in production- so it is a collector's item. The mug is decorated by Tove Slotte- who for 30 years adapted Tove Jansson's original illustrations for these Moomin Mugs. Tove Slotte retired in 2022 Some information I obtained to explain the origin of these mugs: "The Moomins or Moomintrolls (Swedish: Mumintrollen, pronounced [ˈmʉːmɪnˌtrɔlːɛn]) are the central characters in a series of novels, short stories, picture books, and a comic strip by the Finnish writer and illustrator Tove Jansson, originally published in Swedish by the Finnish publisher Schildts.[2] They are a family of white, round fairy-tale characters with large snouts that make them resemble the hippopotamus. However, despite this resemblance, the Moomin family are trolls who live in a house in Moominvalley" The books were written between 1945 and 1993. “Little My, in particular, is a character whom many people identify with or find utterly delightful; the fearless Little My is courageous, outspoken and influential" The mug design was by Kaj Franck The mug measures: 3 inches tall, with a mouth diameter of 3 inches.
