Mexican Owl Coin Bank Vintage Ortiz-style Folk Art Pottery 12" (0050-26)
Hand-painted Mexican owl coin bank in earthy red clay with geometric folk art detailing. 12 inches tall, solid and sculptural, with carved coin slot and tripod legs. This charming owl bank blends playful form with traditional Mexican folk pottery style. Its rounded body, carved coin slot, and hand-painted geometric bands give it strong rustic character. The surface shows hand-applied slip decoration in warm brown, red, and black tones over a natural clay base. The tripod legs add sculptural height and stability, making it a standout shelf piece even when not in use. While it reflects the aesthetic of Mata Ortiz pottery, this example is unsigned and most consistent with late 20th century Mexican folk art production. Condition shows light surface wear and small areas of minor finish loss consistent with age. No cracks or structural damage observed. IMPORTANT NOTE: At Darling Della Vintage, we believe every scratch and bit of patina tells a story. Our pieces are 30+ years old and have lived full lives, so gentle wear, tiny chips, or age-worn charm are part of their soul — not flaws. We photograph and describe each item carefully, but please expect natural signs of age. Embracing vintage means embracing history — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
