3.5” no chips or cracks. Mdina Glass was founded in 1968 in Ta' Qali, Malta, by Michael Harris, who had previously worked at the famous Whitefriars Glassworks in London. The company quickly gained international recognition for its distinctive art glass, characterized by vibrant colors, organic shapes, and often incorporating bubbles and textured finishes. Mdina glass pieces, including paperweights, are highly collectible and often feature motifs inspired by the Mediterranean landscape and historical symbols. The Maltese cross is a prominent symbol associated with Malta, and its inclusion in Mdina glass pieces adds a layer of cultural significance and historical context to these artistic creations.
