Charming Japanese Mino ware Tanuki (raccoon dog) ceramic tea cup / mug in a rich brown glaze with a stylized raccoon face. Nicely weighted with a smooth finish and a comfortable hand-feel. Measures 3½" high and holds approx. 11 oz to the brim (about 8.5–9 oz comfortably). A playful, traditional motif from Japanese folklore and a lovely piece for daily use or display.
