Handmade/Painted, Ceramic, 2 piece, Covered, Smokeless/Water Ashtray

This ceramic item is a windproof and trap-style smokeless ashtray. The sloped top acts like a funnel. When ashes are dropped into the bowl, they slide down into the central hole and fall into the large reservoir below. Once the ashes are inside the lower chamber, the rising smoke gets trapped under the wide, overhanging walls of the ceramic bowl. Because the opening at the top is small, very little smoke can escape back upward. Water can be added to the bowl to help extinguish the ashes.
