A Thing of Beauty Vintage Finds
@athingofbeautyvintage
Hi, I'm Cynthia. I am a shop owner on multiple platforms with 20+ years of experience. I do everything within my power, including packing with great care and shipping fully insured, to get your "thing of beauty" to you safely. I have recently moved to the mountains of eastern Tennessee where I find my treasures and offer them to you, the beholder. I hope you will find your "thing of beauty" here. I was raised in a home where bone china, silver and fine crystal were both used and appreciated. This translated into a love of antiques and handmade items of similar quality. I love the journey that leads me to these beautiful things and I hope you will enjoy my "finds" as much as I have enjoyed finding them. Please feel free to reach out to me via text or email with any questions you may have. I am frequently hiking on the weekends so your best chance of a speedy response will be during weekday business hours. Follow me on FB and Instagram where I share additional information on the creation/history of my items. Helping you find your thing of beauty, Cynthia

Early Jane Callender Dog OOAK Blue Bedlington Terrier - RARE - Extruded Clay Spaghetti Dog Signed
Perfect for a collector! This is a very rare early Jane Callender dog figurine, signed by the artist. This is a blue Bedlington Terrier (also a rare breed) and as you can see by the dog photo it is a close match. She did a few in white and even fewer in blue. The color looks blue-grey in person and has a purplish tone up close. This piece is probably from the 1940s, her early work was signed, later she moved to stamps and labels. Only a very few of these dogs have come up for sale in the last 15 years. Jane produced most of her figurines in the 1940s & 50s. She was widowed at a young age and used her clay/ceramic creations to support herself and her children. She had a studio in Los Angeles. She was known for her extruded clay/spaghetti work. Condition: Excellent. It is unusual to find these intact but this one has no defects that I can see. There is one spot at the base of the neck (see photos) that is missing spaghetti but I don't see any evidence of broken pieces, I think there was never anything there - this is consistent with her style. Approx. size: 6.5" l x 5.5" h x 3" w This item is fragile and will ship double boxed. Signature confirmation will be required on this item. Have you found your thing of beauty?
