Sweet baby or christening cup made by Rogers, Smith & Co in New Haven Connecticut. Rogers Smith & Co operated in New Haven between 1862-1877. These cups were traditionally gifted to babies, reflecting a hope for future wealth and prosperity. It is engraved “Raymond” and marked 121 on the base. It has become a bit misshapen over the last 160+ years. It measures 3.25” tall and 3.75” wide including handle.
