Antique Imperial Glass Marigold Carnival Glass Bowl Open Rose Lustre 6.5” (1910’s -1920’s) Unmarked
Item Overview: Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic piece of American glass history. This is a genuine antique Imperial Glass Company small berry/sauce bowl in the highly collectible "Open Rose" pattern (frequently referred to as "Lustre Rose"). It features a brilliant, iridescent marigold finish over a rich amber glass base that flashes stunning gold and copper tones when it catches the light. Authentication & Age: This piece is a verified early 20th-century original dating back to the 1910s–1920s. It completely lacks any maker's mark or "IG" stamp on the bottom collar base, distinguishing it as a true antique from Imperial’s peak production era rather than a mid-century reissue. Design Details: • Interior: Features deeply embossed, high-relief cabbage roses, intricate buds, and heavily stippled foliage winding around the basin. • Exterior: Adorned with an alternating geometric design of leaves, smooth vertical panels, and multi-petaled cosmos starburst flowers. • Rim: Classic sawtooth/beaded ruffled edge that adds a beautiful texture to the profile. Specifications: • Manufacturer: Imperial Glass Company (Ohio, USA) • Pattern: Open Rose / Lustre Rose • Color: Marigold Carnival Glass • Diameter: 6.5 inches • Circa: 1911 – 1925 • Markings: None (Authentic early unmarked period) Condition Report: Excellent vintage/antique condition. The iridescent marigold coating is beautifully preserved with fantastic color and sheen. Crucially, the smooth underside collar base shows almost no surface scuffing or "silvering" (loss of iridescence from table friction), which is rare for a piece of this age. No cracks, major chips, or structural repairs. Please review all photos closely as they form part of the visual description.
