Antique Burmese Bronze 10-Tical Opium Weight - Hintha Bird 157.44 g 2.25” T x 1.25” L x 1” W

Authentic antique Burmese bronze weight (commonly known as an opium weight). This piece is cast in the traditional form of the mythical Hintha bird (Brahmani duck) resting on a rounded base.Based on its weight, this is a standard 10-Tical (10-Kyat) weight piece. It dates to the late 18th century or 19th century, hailing from the Burma/Myanmar region. Cast bronze with a dark olive-brown aged patina.

Condition: Surface wear consistent with age and heavy historical marketplace use. Some lighter brassy/bronze tones peek through the patina on the high points of the wing from decades of handling. The base is flat and smooth.
