#4109 - Box Vintage Kashmiri papier mache box with a hand-painted Mughal court scene

No chips or cracks Approx size:4 x 4.5 inch There was a note inside - might refer to what collector had in box originally but kept together anyway This is written in Czech. Here’s a translation of what the note says: Original (Czech): *Kamenky z české půdy. Uvnitř achátu vykrystal krystal. V nerostné říši květy neuvadnou. Achát = šestý, krystal = sedmý stupeň tvrdosti.* English Translation: *Stones from Czech soil. Inside the agate, a crystal has crystallized. In the mineral kingdom, flowers do not wither. Agate = sixth, crystal = seventh degree of hardness.* It’s a poetic little mineral label, possibly from a rock or crystal collection. The “sixth and seventh degree of hardness” refers to the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, where agate (a type of quartz) is typically rated 6-7.
