Wassi Art Jamaican Pottery Mug Pair | Hand Carved Leaf Redware Coffee Cups

An original pair of Jamaican studio pottery mugs by Wassi Art, sold as a pair.

Rounded, hand thrown mugs with a leaf design cut through the dark glaze to the red clay beneath (sgraffito). Glossy inside and out, with a pulled handle on each.

Red earthenware, hand thrown and hand decorated, signed on the base "Jamaica Wassi Art." Wassi Art is a pottery in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Undated; the dark glaze palette and carved decoration belong to the pottery's earlier work, placing the pair circa 1990s.

Two small glaze skips are visible on the surface. These happened during firing and are not chips. See photos for condition.

At home on an organic modern coffee bar, a wabi sabi kitchen shelf, or an open shelf of collected pottery.
