Thank you and happy shopping!! Lisa RIO HONDO VINTAGE CALIFORNIA POTTERY FROG FIGURINE PLANTER SCARCE MINT. The Rio Hondo Pottery Company was located in El Monte, California, from approximately 1939 to the mid 1950's, and mass-produced thousands of ceramic wares, primarily hand-painted figurines. Each piece was created by hand, so each figurine, though generally fairly sloppy in its execution, has its own unique charm and personality -- part of the reason for Rio Hondo's continued popularity among vintage California pottery collectors. This listing is for the scarce frog planter, vase, or ring keeper. This little guy measures approximately 4" long by 3" wide by 1-1/2" tall. Very good age appropriate condition. There is very fine all-over crazing present when viewed in bright light (this is a normal part of the aging process for glazed ceramics). Keep in mind that Rio Hondo was most definitely not a high-end ceramics company, and their wares were intended for sale in dimestores. As such, this figurine, as with all Rio Hondo pieces will have some imperfections that occurred in the production process, such as uneven or missing glaze, sloppy brush strokes in the handpainting, errant drops of different colored glazes, missing clay slip, kiln-debris, glaze pops, glazed-over dings/chips, etc. ** Please be sure to read descriptions and evaluate pictures.
