Niknax is more than a marketplace—it's a community. These guidelines are designed to foster a welcoming, trustworthy environment where buyers and sellers can connect with confidence. By using Niknax, you agree to treat others with respect, conduct business honestly, and help protect the integrity of our marketplace.
Our Philosphy
Not every situation can be covered by a written rule. Our moderators and administrators may take action when behavior undermines the trust, fairness, or welcoming culture of Niknax—even if the specific conduct is not listed below.
We encourage members to consider not only whether something is technically allowed, but whether it contributes positively to the community we're building together.
Buying
Buying on Niknax is a little different than shopping at a traditional retail store. Many items are vintage, antique, handmade, or one-of-a-kind. A number of purchases are often made through live sales and auctions. We encourage buyers to bid thoughtfully, ask questions, and communicate openly with sellers. These policies are designed to help create a positive experience for everyone.
Cancellations
A bid on Niknax is a commitment to buy. If you're the winning bidder, you're expected to complete the purchase. Please keep your device out of reach of children and pets to help prevent accidental bids.
If a bid is placed in error, cancellations and refunds are left to the discretion of the seller. Sellers are under no obligation to refund accidental bids.
Members who repeatedly request cancellations or refunds will be banned from Niknax.
Returns & Refunds
If an item arrives as described by the seller—whether during a live sale or in a listing description—returns are generally not required. Buyer remorse or a change of mind is not considered grounds for a return.
If you believe there is an issue with your purchase, please report it within 48 hours of delivery or 10 days after purchase, in accordance with District's policies, by contacting support@district.net.
Item Not As Described
For buy it now and multi-day auction listings, sellers are expected to provide clear photos and an accurate condition report.
For live sales, sellers are expected to point out and describe any notable flaws during the sale. In most cases, items sold during live sales are considered sold as shown.
If you believe an item was not accurately described, we encourage you to first contact the seller directly to try to resolve the issue. If you're unable to reach a resolution, please email support@district.net with the details.
Failed Payments
Please ensure you're able to complete your purchase before placing a bid. Prompt payment helps sellers ship items quickly and keeps the marketplace running smoothly.
If you experience an issue with payment, we encourage you to communicate with the seller or respond to any message from the Niknax team so we can help resolve the situation.
Niknax does not offer layaway, and sellers are not expected to hold items while awaiting payment. Please only bid on items you're prepared to purchase.
Repeated failed payments or a lack of communication may result in the suspension or removal of buying privileges.
Unclaimed Packages & Return to Sender
Please ensure your shipping address is up to date and monitor your package after it ships. Repeated unclaimed or return-to-sender packages may result in the suspension or removal of buying privileges.
Damaged Delivery
If your item arrives damaged, please take photos of the following before opening or discarding anything:
Outside of the shipping box
Inside of the box
Packing materials
Damaged item
These photos are often needed if an insurance claim must be filed. If the package was shipped using USPS Priority Mail, insurance may already be included.
Please keep the box and all packing materials until the issue has been resolved, as USPS may require them for inspection during the claims process.
We encourage buyers to first contact the seller directly to work toward a resolution. If the damage appears to be the result of insufficient packaging, or you're unable to resolve the issue with the seller, please contact support@district.net for assistance.
Selling
Everything operational.
Shipping Expectations
Sellers are expected to ship within three business days.
Raffles & Gambling
Niknax does not permit purchase-based prizes or games of chance. Purchasing an item may not be used as an entry into a drawing, raffle, wheel spin, game, or any other promotion where buyers have the opportunity to win an additional item, prize, or reward.
Gifting During Livestreams
At this time, gifting items during livestreams is not supported on Niknax. Until District introduces a dedicated gifting feature, gifting can create confusion for buyers and sellers and may interfere with order fulfillment.
Counterfeit & Misleading Goods
Sellers are expected to accurately represent the items they sell. Reproduction, counterfeit, or otherwise misleading items must never be presented as genuine or authentic.
Contemporary items with vintage style not disclosed as contemporary.
Any jewelry improperly marked to imitate sterling or gold.
Any item that infringes on intellectual property rights.
Hateful or Discriminatory Items
No items that promote or glorify hatred, violence, or discrimination on the grounds of race, ethnicity, color, religion, disability, national origin, sex, gender and gender identity or sexual orientation.
Wholesale & Bulk Items
No new, bulk, contemporary wholesale items of inferior quality purchased from foreign or domestic sources such as Temu, Amazon, Ali-Express, Walmart, direct sources, etc.
For additional information, see wholesale guidelines.
Begging & Manipulation
No begging or manipulating the audience for sales.
"I could really use this money for an upcoming bill. Please bid."
"We have an unexpected vehicle issue and could really use some money."
Marketplace Integrity
Rules that keep our marketplace fair and trustworthy for everyone.
Community Conduct
No bullying or disparaging other members based on race, ethnicity, color, religion, disability, national origin, sex, gender and gender identity or sexual orientation. In rare cases, we will take into account off-platform conduct as it pertains to Niknax.
If Niknax is provided with verifiable proof that an individual or individuals have attempted to negatively impact or interfere with the marketplace, specific users, or sales on the marketplace, we may take action.
In addition to acts that have occurred in relation to Niknax, we may also take into account when an individual makes poor decisions on other venues–including but not limited to–social media, selling platforms, other marketplaces, or in public correspondence that may impact or threaten the image or health of the community. When evaluating these cases, we consider the severity and timeframe of the behavior, and the likelihood of that behavior occurring on the marketplace.
This includes:
Bid Shaming
Shaming other members for bidding. (ex. "That's enough, give someone else a chance." or "Why don't you let someone else win?")
Guilting
Guilting other members into not bidding. (ex. "What's the point of bidding against that person when they win everything." or "I would really like this, but money is tight. Please give me a chance.")
Devaluing
Putting down the item to prevent bids. (ex. "That's ugly, why would anyone want that?")
Price Quoting
Quoting prices or values in the chat from other online or physical venues. (ex. "You can find that cheaper on…" or "I just saw a bunch of those for $2 at…")
Negative Discussion
This includes arguments in the chat, name-calling, or other behaviors that distract the seller or disrupt the conversation.
Suspicious Bidding
Shill bidding—bidding on your own items or having others bid on your behalf to artificially inflate prices—is strictly prohibited. Any accounts found engaging in coordinated bidding to manipulate sale outcomes will be suspended or banned.
If you suspect suspicious bidding activity, please report it to support@district.net.
Promotion & Solicitation
No promoting other marketplaces or selling platforms via live sale, chat, DM, or marketplace profile. This includes other marketplaces within District. Even attempts to be vague will be considered a violation. Links to social media platforms do not count as other marketplaces or selling platforms.
Other District marketplace owners or members soliciting members via direct message will be banned from Niknax.
No spamming other members—this includes excessively tagging members in live sales or chat channels, sharing a live show to multiple members via DM with no context, or sharing the same post repeatedly in chat channels.
Sponsored Event Rules
No behavior or speech that serves to negatively impact a simultaneous train or sponsored event. This includes:
Imitation
Scheduling a sale or train to imitate the theme, title, or thumbnail of an existing event.
Competition
A seller participates in an event and–during their segment of the event–promotes an upcoming sale that interferes with that same event.
Username & Profile Standards
No using Niknax in your username. This creates confusion with our members. Usernames and profile content must not contain offensive, misleading, or impersonating language.
